Fishtory of Fish Toss

Fish Toss, it's Eorzea's game! But was it always? While scholars remain in (often fierce (disagreement) about how exactly Fish Toss became the game we know and love today, there is concensus surrounding the legendary tale which started it all. As such legends tell:In the distant past, when distant shores were just beginning to turn from mystery into challeng, a fisher took it upon themselves to gross the sea from Tural to what today we call Eorzea. They travelled alone in a simple little sailboat. With no company and far too little to do, the fisher did what they did best: they fished. Every free moment of their travel was spent fishing, and they caught far more than they could ever eat. By the time they caught the shadow of land on the horizon they were practically buried in fish!It was quite a sight to the people gathered on the beach, their eyes enraptured by the strange boat barely bobbing above the water. The crowd was unsure what to make of the lone sailor approaching their shores - likewise did the fisher realize they had no idea how to introduce themselves to the people of this land.
They thought to shout, but didn't know the other's language.
They thought to wave their hands, but worried it could be an obscene gesture to them.
They thought to just do nothing, but figured that would just be creepy.
The sailor started to worry that they would be turned away after their long voyage. Then they realized something. They had the answer all along. Something everyone would enjoy: Fish! The sailor selected the most aerodynamic fish they could see in their boat. A shiny thing, with a sharp face and wide fins. The sailor gazed upon the shore, took aim, and pitched the fish across the shallow waters. As if like magic, a young member of the crowd reacted, leaping from the sand and catching the fish in a single hand. The crowd paused, then clapped, then cheered for the child! The sailor cheered with them, and grinned as they selected the next fish to toss ashore. Another catch! Another cheer! Then another! Then, as the forth fish was thrown, a fumble. An older catcher hadn't quite gotten the grip right, and the fish had fallen into a small pool of water in the sand. But in spite of the slip up, the crowd cheered again for the incredible try! They did the same for each and every fish that was thrown, catch or fumble, until the sailors boat slid onto the sand. The sailor was grinning ear to ear as they stepped on to land, in their arms the held one final, massive fish - far too large to throw! So large that it ended up feeding every person in the crowd, and then some! Thus began the tradition of the toss. An impulsive greeting turned into the Eorzea's past time. A game of friendship and fish, our beloved Fish Toss.
